Personal Swimming Programme at Club La Santa

In addition to our group swimming instructions, through our Aquatic Centre, we can work with you to discuss your needs and help correct your swimming. We can offer you a range of Personal Instructions, which are suitable for any swimmer – beginner, intermediate, elite, open water or triathlete.

Personal Swimming Programmes To Use At Home

Here at the Aquatic Centre, we are able to offer you specifically designed swimming programmes only available for clients that we have worked with. Each programme is devised specifically for the individual and no one programme will be the same. Our programs will be written and sent to you on a weekly basis and can be suitable for:

Simply wanting to improve technique

To compliment these instructions, we can show you the benefits of dry land training specific to swimming. After your personal instruction in dry land traininig you will be given a copy of our Dry Land Training Programme. All Sports Science sessions can be booked upon arrival in Sports Booking.

There are a limited number of sessions available, so advanced booking is recommended. Both individual guests and groups can benefit from Personal Instructions in swimming, diving, water polo, synchronised swimming and disability swimming subject to availability. If you have never learned how to swim breaststroke, front crawl, back stroke or butterfly, your swimming instructor can teach you the technique and give you tips to improve as you train.

Our qualified instructors also have various methods for coaching more advanced swimmers, pinpointing problem areas, and giving advice on how to correct their style. Through our New Sports Science Department we are able to offer stroke correction clinics, complete beginner hydrotherapy courses, open water swimming instruction, childrens intensive learn to swim courses and aqua jogging instruction to name a few.

The following instructions are available:

Complete Adult Beginner Course

This course will be divided into three 30 minute sessions taking place in the comfort of the hydrotherapy pool in the Wellness Centre. You will be guided through the stages of learning to swim overcoming childhood fears. In addition, you will be given a full week’s pass to the Wellness Centre. Your instructor will be in the water with you and take you through breathing exercises and body position before progressing forward to focus on moving. Age: Over 16 years

Stroke Correction Clinic

This course covers everything you will need to improve your technique. First, you will take part in a dry land group session (Max. 4 people) focusing on core training and the mechanics of your stroke. This will be followed by a 30 minute one to one session where you will be filmed above and below the water. You will have another 30 minute one to one session to with analysis and receive a DVD with the film of your stroke. You will then have a 60 minute group pool session which will help to iron out any bad habits and to give any corrections that are needed. An evaluation sheet for improvement will also be provided. (Special offers for Swim Clubs). Age: Over 16 years younger swimmers must have prior approval, email for details.

Swimming Fun Program

The sessions are a great way to get kids to interact with each other, learn new skills and meet new friends. Each session will last for one hour per day and take place over four days. Sessions will include: Flip´n Fun (High board Diving), Rookie Lifeguard (Children’s lifesaving), Water Polo and Aquatic Games. (Holiday periods only, please e-mail to check availability). Age: 4-10

Stroke Rate Performance

These sessions are held over three days, one hour each day on a one to one basis and include performance and ramp tests, working with pace and stroke adaptation. Sessions can be booked at any time subject to scheduling.

Developing a Better Catch

These sessions are held over three days, one hour each day on a one to one basis and include drills and core training, using various equipment we will help to adapt your stoke. Sessions can be booked at any time subject to scheduling.

Open Water Swimming

New to triathlon? Wanting to progress to open water swimming? Or wanting to improve your open water technique our three session program will take you to the next level. The open water swimming program will comprise of one session in our open air 50 metre pool followed by two open water swimming sessions in our fresh water lagoon.

Aqua Jogging

Aqua jogging is a very useful skill as it can be useful for injury rehabilitation and also cross training. Our introduction class focuses on technique and injury prevention. Advanced booking is advised. This session includes take home sample workouts for you to try.
