Power Up For Business with Verve is a brand new camp at Club La Santa that takes place from the 18th to the 20th of January 2019 and consists of an interactive programme to help develop your job & business performance. In this Q&A blog we chatted to the camp organiser, Veronica Burke to gain an insight into what you can expect.

Veronica has worked for several years in executive development, most recently on the Faculty at Cranfield University Business School where she is Director of the Talent Development Programme and the Cranfield General Management Programme. Veronica has a special interest in the development of senior executives and has worked with a number of major businesses in the UK and abroad including The BBC, BP and The Home Office.

  1.  What can someone expect from attending Power Up For Business with Verve?

“This is a great opportunity to spend some time on key aspects of your personal and physical development – in the great environment at Club La Santa with a few well chosen people. Numbers are limited to 12 for this first pilot programme!”

  1. On your camp you have an experienced team with you, how can this benefit the delivery of the camp?

“The Verve team have worked globally with individuals in large and small businesses in all sectors and industries. We value the experience that our clients bring to the table and we work hard to deliver an interactive and personal experience. When we blend personal learning with space and time to reflect – it’s a great combination. In our busy and pressurised working lives, we seldom have the time and space to think about our performance in this way. Spending time with professionals from different businesses also offers a rich opportunity for learning. The programme is designed to hit the common pressure points that senior executives grapple with as a consequence of the current business environment.”

  1. What is the stand out feature of this camp?

“A unique opportunity to blend both business performance and physical performance elements together. A focus on you as the corporate athlete!”

  1. What are the benefits of having such a camp at Club La Santa?

“A rejuvenating wellness environment, great weather and a raft of fabulous opportunities to take part in the many sporting and physical activities on offer.”

  1. What is the atmosphere like?

“The programme offers a unique opportunity to work with other senior executives, to share common issues and challenges and to focus on both your professional and personal performance. Although it’s not a team development programme, you will be able to share your experience, to work with other participants, and to socialise in a warm, fun environment. ”

  1. How important is it for people to develop their personal and business performance?

“It’s essential. At Verve, we know that these two performance elements are key to optimising effort. We understand that the modern business environment is asking us to do more with less, which puts mental and physical load on our resources. Developing a robust agenda for our own performance becomes ever more important the more senior we get!”
