2nd-8th March 2018
Lisbeth Matthiesen welcomes you to yet another Walking Adventure Week filled with lots of interesting and varied walks around on one of the most fascinating volcanic islands in the World, Lanzarote. The tours stretch from La Corona in the north to Uga in the south, and from Club La Santa in the west to the coast in the east. On one of the days during the week we will take the mountain bikes and go exploring in the nearby village of Famara.
Lisbeth Matthiesen is an extremely knowledgeable walking enthusiast. Lisbeth is a trained physical education teacher, guide, physiotherapist, reflexologist and animal behavior therapist. She has over 30 years of diverse teaching experience and has worked periodically at Club La Santa since 1985.
The distances of the hikes can vary between 2 and 6 hours and vary in severity. You have to be used to walking in a brisk pace (min. 5 km per hour) and have good health. There are differences in the ascents and descents on hikes of about 100-400 metres. The week is for everyone, young and old, beginners or advanced. The most important thing is that you have fun while learning a new sport or get better at walking.
Everyone can hike, so why not? Walking is also a very good exercise for the body. You improve your endurance and strength when walking uphill, while the movements downhill and on uneven terrain can be equated with coordination and balance training. The Mountain bike tour is also for beginners. People who have never tried to go mountain biking, will have a great debut.
You should have non-slip shoes (eg. Running and aerobics shoes can be used, but good, stable and solid walking shoes are better), windproof jacket, bike shorts for the bike ride, sun hat and sunscreen, a solid rucksack (backpack size) with room for lots of water, camera, lunch or snacks and swimwear. You have to bring your own food and snacks for the trips.
The camp is restricted to guests staying at Club La Santa during the event. Pre-registration is required as we have a limited number of participants. You can pre-register for the event using the contact form on this page. The price for the week is 110 Euros including all activities on the programme and a special event t-shirt. The full payment for the camp will take place in the welcome meeting upon arrival in Club La Santa.
