Club La Santa, the world’s top sports and activity holiday resort, based in Lanzarote, has added 6D™ Sliding, the new Calisthenics fitness craze to their free activity programme.
The 45 minute class, which takes place   is a new, effective, joint-gentle discipline, designed by Danish sports and health specialists 6-Directions.
The innovative slide training concept allows people to train their muscles in all six directions of movement – up, down, right, left, back and forward, plus all the rotations.
Six-seated sliding washers are used under the feet or hands, depending on the exercise, and include fast starts and stops, resembling movements of other sports. Tennis, handball and football players as well as dancers, runners and skiers use 6-way slides to keep fit. As the workouts are low intensity, they are also ideal for rehabilitation training.

Claire Dyson, Head of Club La Santa UK, commented: “We’re really pleased to be one of the first fitness resorts in the world to offer 6D™ Sliding. It will further enhance our comprehensive activity programme. This concept will take functional training in new directions. It has been a well-kept secret of top athletes, with a focus on improving the body’s stability, balance, strength, endurance, technique and coordination. It is as effective and varied as it is inspiring and gentle. The physical benefits of slide training are undoubtable. Your muscles are challenged both statically and dynamically and your balance is increased. The classes are available free to all our guests and we believe they will become very popular.”
