Long Distance Triathlon Training Camp with Ain-Alar Juhanson, Stephan Vuckovic & Phil Price
23 Feb 2012 to 08 Mar 2012
This camp is now in its 8th year and offers you a great opportunity to get yourself prepared for racing – maybe even for the Lanzarote Ironman. It will be an event where you will be coached, trained, have seminars and the chance to meet other athletes from all around the world.
The camp caters for all abilities, from novice to elite, and is also suitable for Olympic distance athletes looking to build their base training, however those joining should be able to swim at least 200m front crawl non stop. We will be aiming to increase your fitness, whilst also providing advice on all aspects of triathlon.
The maximum number of participants will be limited to 42 places each week to enable more individual attention in all three disciplines. This means that if you want a place on the camp you will have to book quickly.
The training
The training will take place in many parts of the beautiful island of Lanzarote. Swims will take place in the 50 m pool, the Club La Santa lagoon and the Ironman swim course in Puerto del Carmen.
The bike rides, with 3-4 groups at varying speeds, will take in most of the island including the Ironman course, and the runs will take place on and off road with a few sessions on the track.
The weeks will start with a welcome meeting and end with a dinner in the restaurant “La Casa” to round off each week. Companions can join us at the dinner by paying 26 € for the 3 course meal and a ½ bottle of wine.
We are hoping to welcome the same variety of nationalities as in the previous years, including participants from Denmark, Germany, UK, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Sweden, Hawaii and Canada. The main language spoken will be English.
Please remember to bring your swim equipment, wet suit, bike shoes, pedals and helmet. All participants must ride with helmets, according to the law in Spain. No helmet – no ride.
