International Running Challenge - 10K/13K/5K/21k

The International Running Challenge is one of Club La Santa’s most successful running events and will be run for the 22nd time this year. The running races take place on 4 consecutive days over various terrains and distances and this great event attracts runners of different ages, levels, and nationalities with the common purpose of competition and enjoyment. Take a deep breath, relax, smile and don’t forget you are there to have fun.
Course description
Race 1 – Clásica de Lanzarote -10K Road Race
Starting at the Stadium you will run on asphalt roads toward the villages of La Santa and Caleta de Caballo (2 loops race course).
Race 2 – 13K Ridge Run
Starting at the athletics track at the Stadium you will run on both dirt trails and asphalt roads around one of the big volcanoes nearby Club La Santa.
Race 3 – 5K Beach Race
Buses will take the running participants on a half hour ride to the beach in Puerto del Carmen, where the run will take place on soft sand.
Race 4 – 21K La vuelta de Tinajo
The last race, over a half marathon distance, starts at Los Dolores Church in Mancha Blanca and will take you around the volcanic Montaña de Tinajo (1 loop) through Tinajo and back to Club La Santa on both asphalt and dirt tracks. You will finish the race with 300M of the running track in the Stadium before receiving your International Running Challenge medal.
Club/Team Competition
The running team/club must be made up either by only female or male runners. Each team/club can be made of 4 named persons, but only 3 count for the overall team/club results. Each runner will have to specify the team/club name on the entry. Once all 4 members have applied, the team/club cannot change any of those members
Timing
The ChampionChip is selected as official timing system for our races. However official time for the first 10 runners crossing the line will be gun time. A ChampionChip is a mandatory scoring device for all entrants: at registration you will have to leave a deposit of 25€ to get the chip which is to be returned after the race. If you want to use your own chip, it is essential you bring it to the registration. The chip must be attached to the shoe lace and worn throughout the race.

Awards Race 1
1st male/female: 100 € and a trophy
2nd male/female: 60 € and a trophy
3rd male/female: 30 € and a trophy
Awards Race 2, 3, 4
1st male/female: 60 €
2nd male/female: 30 €
3rd male/female: 20 €
Overall 4 days International Running Challenge awards
Top 3 male/ female and the winner of each age group male/ female will receive a trophy. Trophies to the top 3 teams in
each category. All finishers of all four races will receive an International Running Challenge medal.
Age categories
U/20, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69,70-74, 75-79.
Please be aware that your actual age on the fi rst race day is the
one that counts during the International Running Challenge.
Gift certificates: for Veteran age group winners, male/female o/35, and upward in 5 year categories.
Medical assistance service
Medical assistance will be available and accessible to competitors during the race. Our race doctor will be at the start/finish line and Red Cross will provide first aid facilities on the race course.
